Welcome to the UCR 944/968 Special Interest Group, aimed at fostering restoration and maintenance of these great cars. My name is Roger Stopford and I am currently the co-ordinator for the 944/968 SIG. If you are already receiving emails from me about 944/968 then you have already been included into the SIG. If you want to join the SIG or contact me for any reason (ideas, suggestions etc) just email me at sig944968@pcaucr.org.
The goal is to help owners restore and maintain these great cars. I have archived 944/968 tech information and SIG information in https://rogerstopford.wixsite.com/944968sig. If you can add to this archive please let me know. The SIG will pursue organizing relevant tech sessions, capturing and publishing relevant maintenance information, building awareness of all the 944/968 cars we have in UCR and maybe organizing Rendezvous-type events where owners + cars can meet up and promote the cars at UCR events. Communications will be via Provinz, club-wide eblasts, and/or direct emailing to the SIG members.
- If you have tech knowledge that could help owners service the cars please let me know; we can store tech information within the SIG.
- If you are experienced at diagnosing and repairing these cars, and willing to serve as a tech consultant to help owners support their cars please let me know. It would be great to build an in-region network of people who can help others keep the cars in good working order, either by email, phone or even go-see’s where we are local. A few people have indicated a willingness in the past – now we have the platform to implement the concept.
